When you think of Black Friday, you think of big sales and big discounts, so you can save some money just before the Christmas period begins. Well, this isn't the case for EA Sports, with the EA FC 25 Black Friday event set to include bigger and more expensive packs than ever before, but Ultimate Team players won't be short of in-game content over the next week.
Alongside the EA FC 25 Black Friday event, EA is set to release a Thunderstruck squad with Thunderstruck Icons, while a new event called Mode Mastery is also set to begin, following a similar format to FUT Swaps in FIFA 23. Not only will we have the Thunderstruck and TOTW 11 squad in Ultimate Team packs, but a Best Of TOTW squad has already released as part of the EA FC 25 Black Friday event, meaning there are a total of 95 TOTW items in packs at once.

EA FC 25 Black Friday start date
The EA FC 25 Black Friday start date is Friday, November 29 at 6pm GMT / 1pm EST / 10am PST, the same time that the Thunderstruck Team 1 squad and the Mode Mastery event also go live in Ultimate Team. It's likely that the Black Friday event will last just one week, while the Thunderstruck promo should last two.
EA FC 25 Black Friday – what to expect
EA Sports has revealed all about the Black Friday event in its latest Black Friday pitch notes, with some huge updates coming to the game.
The first taste of Black Friday for Ultimate Team players is the Best Of TOTW squad, with 72 85+ rated TOTW players being re-released into packs. The Best Of TOTW squad will remain in Ultimate Team packs until Thursday, December 6, but this isn't the only Best Of squad. EA is also releasing a Best Of campaign player squad is being released in Ultimate Team on Thursday, November 28, with some of the best players from past EA FC 25 Ultimate Team promos being re-released in packs. Like the Best Of TOTW squad, these will also exit packs on Thursday, December 6.
Next, if you're one of the players who pre-ordered the EA FC 25 Ultimate Edition before August 20, 2024 and received an Origin Hero item, your Hero item will finally be upgraded, with EA confirming the Prime Hero upgrades will be landing on Thursday, November 28. If you didn't get a pre-order Hero, then don't worry. All of the Prime Heroes are being released into packs this weekend, so you have a chance of packing one of your own!
Ahead of the Black Friday start date, EA FC 25 is also due a season refresh, with Season 2 being replaced by a new season on Thursday, November 28 – Season 3: Winter Champions. Winter Champions player items are set to become available during Season 3, with each Winter Champions player eligible for a +2 OVR & PlayStyle upgrade based on their club's league table position on January 3, 2025. The first set of Winter Champions will be released in the Season Ladder spotlighting the Premier League race, with follow up releases planned in Squad Building Challenges throughout Season 3.
Daily Login rewards are returning to give players some easy rewards alongside daily Upgrade SBCs over the Black Friday period, while traditional daily and weekly Objectives will be replaced by One Nation Live Friendly Objectives, providing fresh and engaging challenges to earn Season Points (SP) every week.
We should receive daily SBC content including Thunderstruck players, Thunderstruck Icons, Flashback players, and On This Day Icons, while keep an eye out for any flash SBCs that are also released. A host of new Objectives should be released as well as Black Friday or Thunderstruck-themed Evolutions and Rush events, and lastly, EA has increased the number of games in the Champions Play-offs, with players now having six games to earn three wins.
